UNIVERSAL CITY. This impressive, three-story club pays tribute to soulful blues legend B.B. King and features musicians playing blues, jazz, funk, and R&B. Crowds include all sorts of folks, from fledgling talents to tourists and neighborhood aficionados. Fellow musicians also drop by frequently to enjoy the authentic sounds and munch on tasty Creole-inspired fare. VIEW PARK. For over 30 years, Babe's & Ricky's has been bringing live blues to LA music lovers. Past guests have included notables like Duke Ellington, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton, and Big Mama Thornton. The fantastic house band plays every weekend, and Monday night's jam session is a popular training ground for up-and-coming young artists. With inexpensive drinks and authentic fried chicken and soul food, the club is a fun place for just about everyone who walks through the door!

MID CITY. In Cajun country, a fais do-do is a community dance party, and that's what you'll find at this eclectic club. The music runs the gamut from jazz and blues to alternative, hip-hop, and funk. SHERMAN OAKS. This welcoming cafe offers something for everyone amid its dim, atmospheric confines. A variety of live music is presented Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
